Trump selects Brendan Carr as chair of the Federal Communications Commission
President-elect Trump has chosen Brendan Carr to be the permanent chair of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Carr has served on the FCC since 2017 and was confirmed unanimously by the Senate. Carr previously held the position of general counsel and advised former FCC Chair Ajit Pai. He is currently the leading Republican on the commission. Carr has supported initiatives for broadband internet service and has publicly criticized Vice President Harris's appearance on "Saturday Night Live."
