Trump selects Linda McMahon as education secretary in new administration
President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Linda McMahon as his education secretary. McMahon, who co-chaired his transition team, is known for advocating parents' rights and aims to return education control to the states. McMahon previously served as the CEO of WWE and has experience in education governance, having been on the Connecticut Board of Education. She also led the Small Business Administration during Trump's first term. In addition to McMahon's appointment, Trump named Howard Lutnick to head the Commerce Department. McMahon has run for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut twice but was unsuccessful.
