Trump targets green card holder for protest involvement
Immigration officers arrested Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate and green card holder, for leading protests against Israel. President Trump announced this case as the first of many similar actions to come. Khalil, 30, was detained in Louisiana after his arrest in New York. He is married to a U.S. citizen who is eight months pregnant. A federal judge has temporarily blocked his deportation while reviewing a legal challenge to his detention. Khalil's lawyers are also seeking his return to New York.
