Tsunami Basant, beloved giraffe at Hyderabad zoo, dies at 20

A 20-year-old giraffe named Tsunami Basant died at Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad due to complications from old age. He was born during the 2004 tsunami in New Delhi and moved to Hyderabad in 2009. Basant had been suffering from arthritis for the past two years and was under veterinary care. Following his death, only one male giraffe, named Sunny, remains at the zoo. A post-mortem will determine the exact cause of death, with samples sent for further examination.
