Tuakau Hotel plans $5M expansion for tourism
The historic Tuakau Hotel will undergo a $5 million expansion to capitalize on the growing heritage tourism sector. This investment will add a three-story building to the existing hotel. The hotel, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, was originally built in 1875. It previously underwent a $4.5 million restoration between 2007 and 2011, transforming it into a heritage hotel. The expansion plans are in their initial stages and aim to complement the historical design of the original building. The hotel is located near the Auckland boundary.
