Tuguegarao City declares red alert as Super Typhoon Pepito strikes Luzon
Tuguegarao City has declared a red alert as Super Typhoon Pepito, also known as Man-yi, impacts parts of Luzon. Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que warned of potential flooding and urged emergency units to be prepared for deployment. The city remains under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2, with heavy rain expected as the typhoon moves through Quirino province. Flooding and landslides are possible, especially in areas with recent rainfall. A storm surge warning is in effect for four provinces in the Ilocos Region, with surges predicted to reach up to six meters. The Cagayan River is currently above alert level, but all roads and bridges remain passable.
