Tupelo man arrested after evading authorities for months

A man in Tupelo, Mississippi, has been captured after four months on the run. Denarvis Ruff, 32, was wanted for a disturbance that occurred on November 11, 2024. During the incident, Ruff reportedly fired shots into the air and threatened a victim with a gun after a verbal fight. Witnesses identified Ruff at the scene, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on November 25, 2024. The charge was for possession of a firearm by a felon, as he had prior felony convictions. Ruff was arrested on March 19, 2025, by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Tupelo Police. He is being held on a $5,000 bond, set by Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Wille Allen. At the time of his arrest, he was also wanted by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for violating terms of his post-release supervision.
