Turlock man killed, suspect arrested for murder
A man was killed in Turlock, California, during an assault on Tuesday. Authorities say he was hit in the head with a chain. The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Donald Byoyodavid. Police arrived at the scene on South Golden State Boulevard shortly before 1 p.m. They found Byoyodavid injured and unresponsive. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead at the scene. The suspect, 31-year-old Devin Tillery, was arrested later that day. Police attempted to stop him but he fled on foot. After a short chase, officers apprehended him. Tillery has been charged with murder and is in jail. Turlock Police Chief Jason Hedden stated that this incident appears to be isolated. Investigators are working to understand what led to the altercation. Witnesses are encouraged to contact police with any information.
