Twenty equity mutual funds suffered double-digit losses
About 20 equity mutual funds have reported significant losses in the current financial year, FY25. This includes the Samco Flexi Cap Fund and the Samco ELSS Tax Saver Fund, which saw losses of 22.07% and 15.76%, respectively. Among the other funds that suffered declines are the Quant Infrastructure Fund, which lost 14.45%, and the Motilal Oswal Focused Fund, which lost 14.17%. The Tata Infrastructure Fund also performed poorly, with a loss of 12.97%. In total, out of 488 equity mutual funds, approximately 169 have generated negative returns in FY25. Four additional funds from Quant Mutual Fund also posted losses between 11.52% and 12.26%. Other funds with notable negative returns include the Aditya Birla SL PSU Equity Fund and the SBI Energy Opportunities Fund. Funds like the Quant BFSI Fund, Quant Focused Fund, and several others from Quant lost around 10% or more. Some funds recorded smaller losses, such as the SBI PSU Fund and Franklin India Smaller Cos Fund, which lost about 3.90% and 3.89%, respectively.
