Two arrested after stolen caravan crash in Adelaide
Two people have been arrested after a car and a stolen caravan crashed in Adelaide Hills. This happened when they tried to overtake a police car early in the morning. The police were pursuing a stolen Nissan Patrol when a Great Wall station wagon towing a caravan passed them. The station wagon sideswiped the police car as it overtook it. The driver lost control, and the crash occurred on Callington Road in Woodchester. After the accident, the male driver fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, the two police officers in the car were not injured. Images of the crash scene showed the caravan was seriously damaged and a small dog was left shaken. A 35-year-old man from Wellington returned to the scene shortly after and was arrested. He faces several charges, including endangering life and driving while disqualified. Police confirmed that the stolen caravan came from Mount Compass. The Nissan drove off but later returned, leading to the arrest of a 30-year-old woman from Murray Bridge. She was also charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and other offenses. Both suspects have been denied bail and will appear in court on Monday.
