Two people were arrested in Greater Noida on Sunday after a pregnant woman died during delivery. The woman, 24 years old, and her baby died on January 3 due to excessive bleeding. The suspects are Juhi Singh, 27, who posed as a doctor, and Rajiv Bhati, 38, the director of a private hospital in Dadri. The investigation revealed that both suspects lack the necessary qualifications to operate as medical professionals. They had been running the hospital for five years. The case came to light after a complaint was filed by the woman's brother-in-law, Sunil Kumar. Kumar reported that his sister-in-law, Komal, had been admitted for labor pains but faced delays during her operation. The doctors, he said, assured the family that everything was fine until they suggested moving her to another hospital due to an "oxygen problem." During the transfer, Komal told her family that the doctors had performed the delivery forcefully, leading to her excessive bleeding. A post-mortem confirmed that excessive bleeding was the cause of Komal's death. The police registered a case based on the findings of the chief medical officer's (CMO) investigation. The CMO had established a probe team that documented the situation and submitted a report on February 22. As the investigation continues, police are looking into other cases involving the hospital. They confirmed that so far, no other complaints against the suspects had been made.
