Two arrested in Bengaluru for pro-Pakistan slogans
Two men have been arrested in Bengaluru for writing pro-Pakistan slogans and offensive comments about local people on a factory's washroom walls. The incident took place at a factory in Bidadi, where the men, Haimad Hussain (21) and Sadiq (24), worked as contract employees for a company linked to a Japanese automotive parts maker. The arrests were made by Ramanagara police after the graffiti was discovered on March 14. The company's human resources department quickly fired the workers and warned all employees against such behavior. The accused stated their actions were a reaction to being mocked by their colleagues after Pakistan lost a cricket match against India. The situation turned serious when someone posted pictures of the graffiti on social media, leading to a backlash. This prompted the company's HR department to file a police complaint. The men now face charges under Indian laws concerning public order and information technology. The incident has drawn criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). They accused the Congress government of allowing anti-Kannada sentiments to grow. The BJP expressed their concerns on social media and questioned how the government would respond to the incidents. Police confirmed that both men are in custody, and investigations are ongoing.
