Two assailants shot dhaba owner in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

Two men on a motorcycle shot a dhaba owner in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, during a robbery. This incident happened late on Friday night, March 21, 2025, as the owner, Pradeep Guleria, caught them trying to steal cash from the counter. The attackers had ordered food while plotting the theft. When Guleria confronted them, they fired at him, injuring him. They fled the scene with cash and an LED TV. Guleria is currently receiving treatment at a medical college in Nerchowk. The police have registered a case and formed a special investigation team to find the suspects, who are still at large. Witnesses reported that one man wore a white cap while the other had a black helmet. Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, who is also Guleria's classmate, offered support. He expressed concerns about law and order in the state, especially after another recent shooting involving a former Congress MLA. This incident marks the second shooting in Himachal Pradesh within a week, raising alarm about safety in the area.
