Two charged in Navi Mumbai for social media posts
Two men have been charged for disturbing religious peace with social media posts about Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The police registered cases in Navi Mumbai after complaints were made about these posts. In the first case, a local gym owner reported Arif Abdul Wahid Qureshi, 24, for an Instagram post. On March 20, he shared an image of Aurangzeb with the words “King of Hindustan.” This upset many people and led to the police action. Officials noted that Qureshi had a previous incident involving a photo of him with a sword, which was also a legal issue. The second case involves Rafique Qureshi, accused of posting an update on March 19 that also glorified Aurangzeb. Tejas Yashwant Patil, a resident of Ghansoli, made this complaint. Both suspects are facing serious charges under Indian law for their actions. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
