Two young men drowned while swimming in the Hemavathi river near Henli village, Sakleshpur, on Saturday. They were part of a group of friends who went swimming. The victims have been identified as Bharath, 27, from Handi village in Chikkamagaluru district, and Prakash, 29, from Katalli in Sakleshpur. They reportedly struggled to swim, prompting their friends to seek help. Local residents and fire and emergency services were alerted. Fire brigade personnel from Sakleshpur quickly arrived at the scene to assist. They recovered the bodies and took them to the government hospital in Sakleshpur for post-mortem examinations.
