hindustantimes.com

Police in Panchkula have arrested two men for drug trafficking. They were caught on March 22 with 13.42 grams of heroin. The suspects, Naresh Kumar, 38, from Shimla, and Gaurav Sharma, 33, from Solan, are now in police custody for three days. The police acted on a tip-off that led them to set up a checkpoint. They intercepted Kumar and Sharma as they were driving towards Majri Chowk. A search of their vehicle revealed the heroin. Investigations showed that the duo obtained the drugs from Zirakpur. They were distributing them in Himachal Pradesh and Panchkula. Since they could not provide legal proof for the drugs, a case was filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police are now working to find out more about their drug network. They are also looking into specific areas where the drugs were being sold.
