Two firefighters dead in South Korea wildfires
South Korea is facing a serious crisis with multiple forest fires. On Saturday, two firefighters were confirmed dead, and two others are missing. These wildfires broke out across the country, with the most severe located in the southeast region. The fires have been fueled by strong winds, making it difficult for firefighting efforts. Acting President Choi Sang-mok has called for urgent actions to put out the flames before nightfall. The blaze in South Gyeongsang province started on Friday and has already burned about 275 hectares, which is equivalent to 680 acres. Due to the dangers posed by the fires, over 200 residents have had to evacuate their homes. In response to this emergency, the South Korean government declared the affected area a disaster zone on Saturday evening. Efforts to control the situation are ongoing.
