Two injured in Oxnard crash on Pleasant Valley Road
A crash on Pleasant Valley Road east of Oxnard injured two people on Thursday morning. The incident involved a red Jeep Liberty and a silver Mitsubishi Montero and was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Mitsubishi was traveling east while the Jeep was heading west when they collided near the intersection of Pleasant Valley and Wolff roads. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles. Emergency responders took both drivers to local hospitals with minor injuries. The collision caused significant damage to both vehicles. The Mitsubishi ended up on its side next to the westbound lane, while the Jeep faced east in the same lane. The accident blocked Pleasant Valley Road for about 20 minutes. Authorities managed to reopen the eastbound lane around 10 a.m., allowing traffic to alternate for over an hour. Officers stated that drugs, alcohol, and speeding were not factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
