Two jawans injured in Chhattisgarh IED blast

Two members of the District Reserve Guards were wounded in an IED blast caused by Maoists in the Abujhmarh forests of Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh. The incident took place early Thursday morning during a joint anti-Maoist operation. The troops were in the Gawadi area when the blast occurred around 3 am. The injured personnel experienced eye issues due to the explosion and were evacuated for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries were not serious, and they were reported to be in stable condition after receiving medical care. In a separate incident on the same day, security forces engaged in a gunfight with Maoists in Bijapur. During this clash, two Maoists were killed. However, a District Reserve Guards member also lost their life in the encounter. Efforts are ongoing to recover the remains of the fallen jawan. The firefight began when Maoists attacked a security team conducting operations in Bijapur's Gangaloor region. Police reported that the conflict started at 7 am and has continued with exchanges of gunfire. Security forces have recovered two Maoist bodies along with weapons and explosives. They are currently working to surround a group of higher-ranking Maoists in the area, anticipating further casualty updates.
