Two Manipur extremists arrested in Guwahati

Guwahati Police arrested two members of a Manipur extremist group on March 21, 2025. The suspects are Meisnam Bungochouba Singh and Techsa Ibomcha Singh, both 42 years old. They are part of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group), which is known for extortion and weapons-related crimes. Bungochouba Singh is an arms supplier from Bishnupur district. Techsa Ibomcha Singh is a senior commander of the group from Imphal East district and is wanted in several cases. Police caught the two men at the Inter-State Bus Terminus, acting on information provided by the Army's military intelligence. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts to combat extremism in the region.
