Two men accused of child pornography in Ludhiana
Police in Khanna have filed charges against two men for allegedly downloading and sharing child pornography. This follows evidence found on their mobile phones during an investigation. The suspects have been identified as Sukhpreet Singh from Guru Gobind Singh Nagar and Simarpal Singh from Chankoian village. The case began when police received a letter from a senior official in the cyber crime division in December 2024, naming the accused. Authorities raided the homes of the suspects on December 24, 2024, and confiscated their phones. These devices were examined by cyber experts, who confirmed the presence of illegal content. Consequently, the police registered a case under the Information and Technology (IT) Act. Currently, neither of the accused has been arrested. The original alert about the content came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the U.S., which regularly monitors such material and reported it to the Indian government.
