Two men arrested for assaulting 10-year-old boy

A 10-year-old boy was tied up and assaulted in Panchkula, leading to the arrest of two men. The incident happened on March 15 when the boy, who is from Mohali, went out to collect scrap. He was falsely accused of stealing by Surjeet, a juice shop owner, and three others. The boy's mother reported that the accused tied her son’s hands and feet in the shop, beat him, and threatened his life. After receiving a call from her son, she and her son-in-law hurried to the shop but the accused refused to release the boy and threatened them. Desperate for help, the mother contacted the police. Officers arrived at the scene and found the child tied to a pole inside the juice shop. The police recorded evidence and took statements from the mother. A case was filed against the accused under child cruelty and criminal intimidation laws. Police arrested Surjeet and another suspect named Subodh. Both are originally from Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. The other two suspects, Anoop and Jyoti Sarup, are still on the run. Authorities are working to locate them, and the case is now assigned to juvenile officer Didar Singh for further investigation.
