Two men arrested for gangrape in Chhattisgarh
Chhattisgarh police have arrested two men for the gang rape of a 28-year-old tribal woman. The assault occurred in July 2024 in Jashpur district. The attackers pretended to offer healing treatments related to sorcery. The woman was suffering from severe abdominal pain. A man she knew, Dileshwar Yadav, told her to visit a local healer. He took her to a remote area where Kishore Panda was waiting. Panda gave her a drink that made her unconscious, and the men then raped her. The victim was unaware that she became pregnant until August 2024. She faced threats from the men, which kept her from reporting the crime. After giving birth in February 2025, she decided to speak out and filed a police report. An investigation led to the two men being arrested on Tuesday. They confessed to the crime. The woman faced discouragement from villagers when she initially sought help, but she found the courage to come forward.
