Two men arrested for plotting communal conflict in Ghaziabad
The police in Ghaziabad arrested two men on Tuesday for attempting to create tensions between communities. They allegedly placed meat at a cow shelter on temple grounds in Lohiya Nagar just before Holi, a major festival. The goal was to provoke conflict and alert cow vigilantes about the meat. The two suspects were identified as 21-year-old Yogesh Chaudhary and 22-year-old Shivam Pal, who live in the Raj Nagar Extension area. A woman named Chaya Sharma and her father, Nandkishor Sharma, are also wanted in connection with the plot. Chaya is related to the operator of the cow shelter where the meat was found. Police became suspicious when they discovered that the meat seemed to have been deliberately planted. They traced a phone number used to tip off the vigilantes back to Yogesh. Upon questioning, he revealed details about the plan. Authorities later discovered that Chaya and her father wanted to take control of the cow shelter run by her relative. Testing of the seized meat confirmed it was not from a cow. The police have charged the suspects with making false accusations intended to harm others and creating public fear. An FIR has been filed at the Sihani Gate police station.
