Chennai police have arrested two more suspects in a double murder case from Kotturpuram. The men, K Anand, 20, and M Karthik, 22, were taken into custody on March 22. They are both from Kottivakkam and are now in Puzhal prison. This latest arrest brings the total number of suspects to 14, including four juveniles. Police have seized various items from the suspects, such as seven knives, five mobile phones, and four two-wheelers. The victims, Arunkumar and Padappai Suresh, both 25, were killed by a gang while they slept inside Nagavalli Amman Temple on March 16. Reports suggest that the attack was in retaliation against Arunkumar, who was planning to kill the main suspect in the case, Sukku Kaapi Suresh, 26. Arunkumar had reportedly intended to avenge the murder of his girlfriend in 2022. Police mentioned that six of the arrested suspects suffered injuries while trying to escape from law enforcement.
