Two Ohio officers indicted for reckless homicide in death of man who pleaded for breath

Two police officers in Canton, Ohio, have been indicted on reckless homicide charges in the death of Frank E. Tyson, a 53-year-old man who died in police custody in April. Officers Camden Burch and Beau Schoenegge were booked into jail on November 1. Tyson died after being restrained by police while pleading that he could not breathe. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide, citing acute intoxication and cardiopulmonary arrest as contributing factors. The officers were initially placed on administrative leave. If convicted, Burch and Schoenegge could face up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. They are currently held on a $25,000 bond and are set to be arraigned on November 8.
