Two people dead in Monroe County shooting

A man and a woman were found dead following a shooting in Monroe County on Monday night. Police responded to a 911 call around 10:15 p.m. from a woman who sounded distressed. When officers arrived at the scene on Heritage Boulevard, they discovered a woman and a man both suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The victims have been identified as Cheryl Okie and Robert Okie, both 35 years old. Authorities believe that this shooting was an isolated incident. The exact cause and manner of death for both victims will be determined after autopsies scheduled for Wednesday.
