Two smugglers injured, four arrested in Tarn Taran

Two drug smugglers were injured during an encounter with Punjab Police in Tarn Taran on Monday night. The police also arrested two other suspects who tried to escape. The incident occurred at the Chabhal police station area. Officials stated that the police received information about two individuals, Vijay and Gurjant, from Baropal village. They had reportedly collected drugs and weapons that were smuggled in from Pakistan using a drone. As the police approached, Vijay and Sagar, the other two suspects, were meeting the first two to finalize a deal. When police arrived, the suspects opened fire. In the exchange of gunfire, Vijay and Sagar were injured. Both men were taken to a hospital for treatment. During the operation, police recovered 7 kg of opium, three pistols made in Pakistan, and one lakh in drug money. An FIR is being prepared as the investigation continues.
