Two teens drowned while swimming in Ulhas river

Two boys from Powai drowned while swimming in the Ulhas river during a picnic on Sunday. The victims, identified as 17-year-old Vivek Tiwari and 18-year-old Vinayak Shah, did not know how to swim. They entered the water and went into the deep end, which led to their tragedy. Local residents quickly alerted the fire department, who came to the scene to recover the boys' bodies. The bodies were taken to the hospital for post-mortem examinations. Police have registered a case of accidental death. This incident follows a similar tragedy on Holi, when four children also drowned in the Ulhas river. Residents are urging tourists to be more careful around the water.
