Two-way traffic causes confusion in Pune's Range Hills

Pune commuters are experiencing difficulties after two-way traffic was reinstated between Range Hills chowk and Shivajinagar last week. Problems include wrong-way driving, poor road conditions, and unclear signs on Ganeshkhind Road. This change was intended to benefit motorists but has led to increased confusion and risk. Drivers have reported specific trouble spots, especially near Agriculture College chowk and the road connecting it to Sakhar Sankul. Some commuters have expressed frustration, saying that there are no clear directions guiding vehicle movement. Last year, diversions were set up due to Metro construction, which has complicated the traffic situation even further. One commuter, Gopidas, noted the urgent need for road repairs in these areas. Another, Sanket Tambe, highlighted the confusion among drivers trying to navigate the new two-way setup. He warned that the risk of accidents could rise if clear direction boards are not installed. Traffic police are aware of the situation. They have deployed wardens to help manage the movement of vehicles and plan to address the issues soon. Meanwhile, they are working to clear obstructions and ensure traffic flows smoothly in key areas. Barricades are also being removed where construction is complete to aid in better traffic management.
