Typhoon Krathon disrupts life in Taiwan for third day with heavy rains and closures

Typhoon Krathon continues to impact Taiwan, causing school and office closures for a third day. Authorities advise residents to stay indoors as the storm approaches, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The typhoon is located about 50 kilometers southwest of Kaohsiung, moving northeast at a slow pace. It is expected to make landfall later today, with maximum sustained winds of 137 kph. Over 100 people have been injured, and two fatalities have been reported. Thousands have been evacuated from high-risk areas, and nearly 40,000 troops are ready to assist with rescue operations.
