Typhoon Nika forces evacuation of over 5,000 residents in Aurora Province
Typhoon Nika, also known as Toraji, has led to the evacuation of 5,244 people in Aurora Province as of November 11. Initially, 1,852 individuals were evacuated as a precaution, but the number increased as the storm intensified. The typhoon made landfall in Dilasag at 8:10 a.m., bringing heavy rains and strong winds. The towns of Dilasag and Casiguran are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4, with Dinalungan under Signal No. 3. Residents from Dilasag, Casiguran, and Dinalungan are among the most affected, facing power outages and severe weather conditions. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and assist evacuees.
