Typhoon Nika intensifies, seven areas in Northern Luzon under Signal No. 4
Typhoon Nika, also known as Toraji, has intensified as it nears the boundary of Isabela and Aurora provinces in the Philippines. Seven areas in Northern Luzon are now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4, indicating strong winds. The Philippine weather agency, Pagasa, reported that Nika has maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 180 kph. The typhoon is moving west-northwest at 15 kph and may make landfall soon. Previously, six areas were under Signal No. 4, but this has now expanded to seven. Additional warnings include Signal No. 3 for other regions, with expected storm-force winds, and Signal No. 2 for areas facing gale-force winds.
