Typhoon Nika strengthens as six areas in Northern Luzon face severe weather warnings
Tropical Storm Nika has intensified into a typhoon, with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour. It is currently located about 100 kilometers east southeast of Casiguran, Aurora, and moving west northwest at 20 kph. The Philippine weather agency has issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 in six areas of Northern Luzon, indicating expected winds of over 118 kph. Additional signals have been raised in other regions, forecasting varying wind speeds and rain. Nika is projected to make landfall in Isabela or northern Aurora on Monday morning. It is expected to continue moving west northwestward and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Tuesday.
