Typhoon Ofel maintains strength as Signal No. 2 issued for Cagayan and Isabela
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 has been issued for parts of Cagayan and Isabela as Typhoon Ofel remains strong over the Philippine Sea. Areas affected include eastern Cagayan and Isabela, while Signal No. 1 is in effect for several other regions. Ofel is currently 485 kilometers east-northeast of Daet, moving west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour. It has maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour and is expected to make landfall on November 14. A moderate to high risk of life-threatening storm surge is forecast for Batanes, Ilocos Norte, and surrounding areas. Heavy rains may lead to localized flooding and landslides in vulnerable regions. Another storm, Man-Yi, is expected to enter the Philippine area on Thursday and will be named Pepito.
