Typhoon Pepito weakens but remains a threat as Signal No. 4 stays in effect in the Philippines
Super Typhoon Pepito has weakened to a typhoon as of Sunday night, but Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 remains in effect for several areas in the Philippines. The storm is currently near Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya, moving west northwest at 25 kilometers per hour. Maximum sustained winds are at 165 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching 275 kilometers per hour. Signal No. 5 has been lifted in Aurora, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya, but TCWS No. 4 is still active in other regions. Areas under TCWS No. 3, No. 2, and No. 1 are also affected, with expected wind speeds decreasing from over 118 kph to 39 kph in the coming hours.
