Typhoon Toraji strikes Philippines as fourth storm in a month prompts evacuations

Typhoon Toraji made landfall on the northeast coast of the Philippines near Dilasag, prompting the evacuation of thousands and the closure of ports. This marks the fourth typhoon to hit the country in less than a month. The storm, located about 220 kilometers from Manila, brought strong winds and heavy rain. Authorities reported no immediate casualties or damage, but some areas experienced power outages and fallen trees. Around 2,500 villages were ordered to evacuate, with at least 1,400 people moved from vulnerable coastal and landslide-prone areas. Toraji is expected to move out to the South China Sea later today.
