Typhoon Usagi causes flooding and bridge damage in northern Philippines as new storm approaches
Typhoon Usagi, or Ofel, struck Cagayan province in the Philippines on November 14, causing significant flooding and damage to roads and a bridge in Gonzaga. The Philippine Red Cross reported that floodwaters were responsible for the destruction. The Philippine meteorological service forecasted up to 200 mm of rain for the area. By Friday, Usagi had moved out of the Philippine area of responsibility, shifting focus to the intensifying Typhoon Pepito. Northern Philippines has faced a series of storms this season, with six consecutive storms before Pepito. Currently, no additional storms are expected to follow Pepito, providing some relief to the region.
