UC San Diego makes NCAA Tournament debut, shows promise
UC San Diego has qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time after winning the Big West Conference. The Tritons, in their fifth season in Division I, have achieved a record of 30 wins and 4 losses this season. Previously, UCSD struggled in their early Division I years, finishing with records of 7-10, 13-16, and 10-20. Their performance improved last season, culminating in this year's success with an 18-2 conference record. The Tritons are led by head coach Eric Olen and player of the year Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones. They are currently ranked 36th in the country by KenPom, making them a potential threat in the tournament.
