UConn football starts spring practice with quarterback competition
UConn football started spring practice this week, welcoming 27 new players, including a record 12 transfers. Coach Jim Mora emphasized evaluation and development as the team prepares for the upcoming season after a successful 9-4 campaign. The quarterback position will see intense competition, with seven players vying for the starting role. Joe Fagnano, Nick Evers, and redshirt freshman Cole Welliver are among the contenders, while new passing game coordinator Pryce Tracy will lead the group. Evers is working on gaining weight to improve his performance, while top receiver Skyler Bell looks forward to building chemistry with the quarterbacks. The team aims to enhance their offensive strategies this spring.
