UConn men’s basketball achieves 12-game tournament win streak

The UConn Huskies have made history by winning the NCAA basketball tournament in 2023 and 2024. They are the first men's team to win back-to-back championships since the Florida Gators did so in 2006 and 2007. To achieve this, UConn had to win at least 12 consecutive games in the NCAA tournament. With their recent performance, UConn has moved up the list of the longest win streaks in tournament history. They now have a total of 12 straight wins. They also achieved this milestone after defeating Oklahoma in the Round of 64. UConn is now among only two other programs that have reached this level in men's tournament history. The longest win streak in NCAA men’s tournament history belongs to UCLA. The Bruins won 38 consecutive games between 1964 and 1974. UConn currently stands in second place with 13 wins. They are tied with Duke, which also has 13 wins from 1991 to 1993. Other notable programs include Cincinnati, Florida, and Kentucky, each with 12 wins. During UCLA's streak, the NCAA tournament featured fewer teams. Today, with 68 teams competing, any team looking to surpass UCLA's record would need to win six national championships.
