UGA lineman arrested after crashing car into apartment

A University of Georgia football player was arrested after crashing his car into an apartment complex. The incident involving Marques Easley occurred earlier this week. He crashed his 2021 Dodge Challenger into a building in Watkinsville on Monday. Easley, 19, was charged with reckless conduct and reckless driving. He was booked into the Oconee County Jail on Friday afternoon. He was released within 30 minutes on a $1,000 bond. An incident report revealed that Easley lost control of his vehicle before hitting a power box and two parked cars. He told officers he was driving at 25 to 30 miles per hour. However, investigators believe he was going much faster, based on tire marks at the crash site. Easley was taken to the hospital after the crash, but details about his injuries were not provided. The University of Georgia Athletics department announced that Easley and another freshman player, Nitro Tuggle, were suspended from the team. Tuggle was arrested separately on charges of speeding and reckless driving.
