UK arranges charter flight for Britons to leave Lebanon as tensions rise
The UK Government has arranged a charter flight for British nationals wishing to leave Lebanon due to escalating tensions. The flight is set to depart from Beirut on Wednesday, with priority given to vulnerable individuals. Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized the volatile situation in Lebanon and urged Britons to leave immediately. The government is also securing additional seats on commercial flights for those wanting to evacuate. Approximately 5,000 British citizens are currently in Lebanon. The UK has deployed military assets to Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean as a precaution for potential evacuations.
