UK ranks eighth in global power index
A new index by investor Rya Dalio ranks the world's most powerful nations, placing the UK eighth with a score of 0.29. The UK is described as a global power on a flat trajectory, hindered by a sluggish economy and poor infrastructure. The top five countries are the USA, China, the Eurozone, Germany, and Japan. The USA leads with a score of 0.89, benefiting from strong capital markets and military power. China follows with a score of 0.8, noted for its infrastructure and trade leadership. Other notable rankings include South Korea in sixth and India in seventh. Russia and France are in the bottom two spots, reflecting their limited global power due to economic challenges and other factors.
