UK schools may prioritize AI and climate science education
The UK government is considering changes to the school curriculum, focusing more on artificial intelligence and climate science. This may lead to a reduction in emphasis on traditional "tough" subjects like languages and humanities. Professor Becky Francis, leading the curriculum review, noted that the current curriculum may limit time for vocational and arts subjects. The review will assess the English Baccalaureate, which requires students to take five core subjects. An interim report on the review is expected next week, with a full report due in the autumn. Critics argue that these changes could dilute academic rigor in schools.
