UK to experience 18C, warmer than Greece's 15C
The UK is in for a warm day on Wednesday, with temperatures expected to reach 18°C. This marks it as one of the hottest days of the year so far. Interestingly, some areas in the UK will be warmer than Greece on this day. This pleasant weather follows a series of sunny days this week. However, a sharp drop in temperatures is expected over the weekend. Parts of Northern Ireland and Suffolk may see temperatures fall to 6°C and 8°C, respectively. Heavy rain will also affect areas in south Wales and the Midlands on Saturday night. Despite the weekend chill, forecasters predict a new wave of warm weather coming from the Atlantic. Southeastern England, including London, should see highs of 18°C next Wednesday. Up north, Doncaster is expected to enjoy pleasant temperatures of around 16°C. In contrast, Greece will face rainy weather on Wednesday, with temperatures only around 15°C in most regions. The southern parts, including Syrna, will likely experience lows of 12°C. Athens could see heavy rain in the afternoon, with possible thunderstorms in the Epirus region. Looking ahead, the UK is set to continue with dry weather for most of next week despite light rain from the weekend's weather front. The Met Office notes that March has been notably dry, with good weather expected to last until the end of the month. Temperatures may rise again near the end of the week, with highs of 17°C in areas like Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. However, as March shifts into April, changing weather patterns could bring back unsettled conditions. The Met Office warns of the possibility of rain and wind, especially in the northwest. Overall, average temperatures are expected, but cold nights may persist with clear skies.
