UK to see 4-day warm spell from April 2
The UK is set to experience warm weather from April 2 to April 5, with temperatures reaching the mid to high teens in many areas. Some locations in northern Scotland are expected to be the warmest, hitting 18°C. This includes the counties of Sutherland, Ross and Cromarty, and Inverness-shire. While these temperatures will feel pleasantly warm for early April, they do not meet the criteria for a heatwave, which requires at least three consecutive days of significantly above-average temperatures. The Met Office has noted that 18°C is still below the threshold for a proper heatwave. Most parts of the UK will enjoy warm weather, with the north-east and north-west of England reaching temperatures between 14°C and 17°C. South-eastern England, the Midlands, and other regions will see similar conditions, with the hottest day expected on April 5. Mornings may start off cooler, below 10°C, but sunshine will warm things up by midday. There will be some low clouds and rain in parts of the north, but these conditions are expected to improve. Showers, some possibly heavy and thundery, may develop in the south. By evening, southern showers will ease, while northern areas might see frost and fog patches overnight. The following day, most of England and Wales will enjoy a mainly dry and bright day, with the possibility of light rain in the north. Overall, temperatures will be near average, and sunny spells will make it feel pleasant.
