Ukraine launches Storm Shadow missiles into Russia for first time
Ukraine has launched British-made Storm Shadow missiles at military targets in Russia for the first time. This follows Ukraine's initial use of US long-range Atacms missiles on Russian soil earlier this week, authorized by President Joe Biden. Reports indicate that multiple Storm Shadow missiles targeted at least one military site in Russia's Kursk region. Local officials claimed that Russian air defenses intercepted two missiles, while fragments of a Storm Shadow missile were reportedly found near the village of Marino. Discussions among Western officials at the G20 summit included the use of Storm Shadows and similar missiles. The situation has raised concerns about escalating conflict, as Russia has adjusted its military doctrine regarding nuclear weapons in response to these developments.
