Ukraine launches US-made long-range missiles into Russia for first time
Ukraine has launched US-supplied long-range ATACMS missiles into Russia for the first time, targeting an ammunition depot in the Bryansk region. This follows President Biden's decision to lift restrictions on their use, marking a significant escalation in the conflict. In response, Russia has updated its nuclear doctrine, stating that any conventional attack supported by a nuclear power could justify a nuclear response. Moscow claims to have intercepted five of the six missiles fired by Ukraine, with debris causing a fire at a military facility. The attacks coincide with Ukraine's 1,000 days of war, as Russian strikes continue to target civilian areas, resulting in multiple casualties. Ukrainian President Zelensky has called for increased support from allies, particularly Germany, amid concerns over Russia's military actions and potential North Korean troop involvement.
