Ukraine launches US-made missiles into Russia for first time in conflict
Ukraine has reportedly fired six U.S.-made longer-range missiles at Russia's Bryansk region, marking the first use of these weapons inside Russia during the ongoing conflict. This development comes as Russia's President Putin has lowered the threshold for nuclear weapon use. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy confirmed the use of long-range capabilities, including the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS). Russia claims to have intercepted five of the missiles, with debris causing a fire at a military facility but no reported casualties. The conflict has escalated, with Ukraine also facing increased Russian strikes on its territory, resulting in civilian casualties. Zelenskyy outlined a resilience plan to strengthen Ukraine's military capabilities, including plans to produce more long-range drones and missiles.
